Man Arrested after Mall Chase

A man allegedly tried to buy about $5,000 in jewelry fraudulently.

A Bridgeport man led police on a chase through the Westfield Trumbull Mall Wednesday afternoon before he was arrested in the parking lot.

Shalliek Seville Ivory, 27, of Ridge Avenue, Bridgeport, is charged with third-degree robbery, first-degree breach of the peace, attempted second-degree larceny, attempted credit card theft, attempted illegal use of a credit card and attempt at receiving goods or services with an illegal credit card.

Police said Ivory tried to buy $5,000 in jewelry with a North Carolina driver's license and an American Express card at Zales.

Officers found him in the Food Court and he fled through the mall before running into the parking lot. Outside, he tried to force drivers to give him a ride and unsuccessfully tried to pull a driver from his vehicle, police said.

Ivory was unable to post $100,000 bond and appeared in Bridgeport Superior Court today.
