Police: Somebody Was Sleeping in Their Bed

Recent arrests by Trumbull Police. A couple allegedly found a stranger sleeping in their guest bedroom.

The following arrest information was supplied by the Trumbull Police Department. It does not indicate convictions.

A Bad Place to Crash

A Bridgeport man police believe was involved in a motor vehicle crash was arrested in Trumbull after he was allegedly found sleeping in a bed in a home where he did not live.

Guy McIntosh, 25, of Capitol Avenue, is charged with second-degree burglary. Police said a Trumbull couple heard a noise in their home late one night and checked the guest bedroom, where they found McIntosh. They called 911.

McIntosh was incoherent at times but said he entered through a window, police said.

His bond was set at $5,000.

Houseguest Accused of Larceny

A Monroe woman who allegedly lived with a Trumbull family is accused of stealing and pawining jewelry.

Police said Patricia L. Mercaldi, 29, of Turkey Roost Road, is charged with third-degree larceny for taking items totaling more than $3,500 and pawning them.

She allegedly admitted the theft, police said.

Her bond was set at $5,000.

A Not-So-Neighborly Incident

Jeffrey Anthony Somley, 48, of Fairview Avenue, Trumbull, is charged with interfering with police, second-degree breach of the peace and second-degree threatening.

Police said Somley was banging and kicking on a neighbor's door for an unknown reason. He refused to cooperate with police and threatened to get a gun and injure a police officer, police said.

His bond was set at $1,500.

Arrest in Alleged DUI from 2004

David M. Warner, 52, of Bronx Avenue, Bridgeport, is charged with driving under the influence, violation of conditions of release, driving an unregistered motor vehicle, misuse of a license plate and driving without a license.

His bond was set at $3,500.

Shoplifting Charged

A Fairfield woman is accused of stealing nearly $810 in merchandise from Lord & Taylor in the Westfield Trumbull Mall.

Police said Gretchen Hessel, 38, of Kings Highway East, entered a fitting room then left with the items in a bag. She then walked out the store, where she was stopped, police said.

Her bond was set at $1,000.
