Historical Society Holiday House Tour this Saturday!

Holiday House Tour this Saturday from 11AM-4PM, reception at Historical Society. Tickets $20 in advance, $25 day of tour.

Celebrate the Holidays with your Historical Society!

Take a break from your Christmas shopping to gather together and enjoy the season! Your Historical Society is hosting its first Holiday House Tour, which showcases some of Trumbull’s most beautiful homes ranging from 1745-1965. Whether your interest is in architecture, decorating or you just love the holiday season, consider joining us on Saturday, December 8th!

We wanted to include homes from all different sections of town and from different architectural periods. Each home will be decorated by a different local florist including Irene’s Flower Shop, City Line Florist, Rudy’s Flower Shop, Hovan’s Flowers, Flower Barn and Fruits and Flowers.

Throughout the tour, you will be able to see how architectural styles evolved in Connecticut, from the wide floorboards and low ceilings of a saltbox, to the 1960’s version of the modern American home.

In addition to our six homes, the Historical Society will be open the day of the tour from 10:30AM-5PM. Our exhibit “Christmas Past” includes colonial and Victorian era decorations made by our decorating committee. We also explain the history behind nutcrackers, St. Nicholas, Christmas Trees, mistletoe, Holly and Ivy, and Christmas Cards. We have also included displays which highlight how Christmas and holiday decorations and traditions were modernized throughout the 20th century. We will have refreshments and delicious treats for our guests. Stop in our Gift Shop to find stocking stuffers, holiday craft kits for the kids and books by local authors.

Purchasing a ticket to the tour will help the Historical Society improve our campus, stay active, and continue to educate and preserve Trumbull history.

A big thank you to the Board members and volunteers who helped make this exciting event possible.

You can purchase a ticket today or tomorrow at the Town Clerk’s office, Past and Presents Shop, Flourishes Gift Shop, City Line Florist or through the museum. Tickets are $20. Tickets are available the day of the tour for $25 beginning at 10:30AM at the Historical Society. Help us make this event a Trumbull tradition!
