[Editor's Note: This announcement was originally published on Oct. 14.]

Sunday, Oct. 23 at 11 a.m.
Meet at the Park Street Commuter Parking Lot
(Daniels Farm Road - Rt.25 exit 9).

If history's a natural for you, our October event has got you covered. The Trumbull Historical Society and Trumbull Nature and Arts Center are joining together to offer a “history and nature” hike along the east side of the Pequonnock River.

The hike will take participants past the ruins of the Tait Paper Mill, the site of the old Trumbull Reservoir Dam, and scenic Black Pool. A walk through an impressive hemlock forest completes the journey to Indian Ledge Park. Those choosing to continue will have an opportunity to see the site of a World War II plane crash, a ledge used as a Paugussett shelter, and the ruins of the Radcliffe knitting mill.

Rain date: October 30 at 11 a.m.
