HARTFORD – State Representative T. R. Rowe (R-123) has been recognized by the Connecticut League of Conservation Voters (CTLCV) for his pro-environment votes during the 2012 legislative session. Rowe earned a perfect 100% on bills scored by the CTLCV.
During the 2012 legislative session, Rep. Rowe supported bills that will protect open space; reduce harmful levels of phosphorus in Connecticut’s rivers, lakes, and streams; provide better, timely information to address sewage spills; and modernize the state’s coastal zone management laws in a way that balances environmental concerns with the rights of property owners.
“There never seems to be a shortage of state environmental concerns to address in the legislature,” said Representative Rowe. “I am proud to have earned a favorable score from the CTLCV, but prouder that important measures were taken this past session to improve Connecticut’s environment. It is also important to remember that one need not be ‘anti-business’ to be ‘pro-environment.’ To the contrary, when done properly, and with attention to detail, strong environmental policies can yield favorable business consequences.”
