“The challenge of going from school to work, from home to independence, from old friends to new territory isn't easy,” Spitzer said. “For many, facing the challenges of job ‘politics,’ the sudden loss of one’s former social life, and becoming fully independent are frustrating and depressing.  These Tuesday evening seminars will be an opportunity to share experiences, meet with peers and discover some positive options during difficult times.”

“The economy forced many recent college graduates to return to the nest, depressed and anxious,” Spitzer said. “This transitional situation can test the limits of even the sturdiest families. Young professionals, job seekers, and those wrestling with surrounding issues can drop in to these seminars one time or weekly to identify new strategies and resources to stay positive.”

The group sessions are Tuesdays, 7:00-8:00 p.m., beginning Tuesday, Dec. 3 at 15 Lake Avenue, Trumbull CT.  Details are available by calling 203-218-2200 or e-mailing Allison@periwinklehealth.com. Pre-registration required. Size limited.  The per session fee is $15.00.

Spitzer began healing work with children and adults in 1975 and welcomes people of all ages, sizes and capacities. She trained in expressive therapies and interpersonal communications at Northwestern University and is a member of the International Expressive Arts Therapy Association. She also offers a local “Social Skills Group for Tween Girls,” ages 10-12, and runs a local private practice for children, teens and adults, individual, couples, and families.
