The Dini Band Fundariser Supports Two Local Charitable Organizations Nov. 9

When Victoria T. Ferrara, President of Ferrara Hayden, PC in Fairfield, CT, decided to pursue her love of music, that love started to spread in ways she had never dreamed possible. To be able to use her music as a means of creating and funding a foundation that helps empower both kids and the elderly – well that was just not on the radar screen in the beginning. But, welcome to the world of Vicki Ferrara and The Dini Band. The Dini Band, an alternative rock band playing many of Vicki’s originals plus audience-favorite covers, started taking off two years ago, playing gigs at The Bitter End in New York City, the Huntington Street Café in Shelton, the Outer Space in Hamden, and Two Boots in Bridgeport. Vicki took on the mantra, “Lawyer by Day, Rocker by Night” and has a popular youtube video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oG4er2rg5lc).

Ferrara’s dream to use her music-making abilities to support her newly formed charitable organization, Aunt Terry, Inc. (http://www.auntterry.com) came into full swing motion one year ago when her sold-out concert at Fairfield Theatre Company raised much-needed funds to carry on the work of the foundation and to fulfill its mission statement, which is to donate to the organizations that are making a difference in areas where children are starving and suffering from illness and poverty. The mission of Aunt Terry, Inc. is to make a difference, recognizing that every human being has a need and a right to live with love and dignity in their lives. The main recipient of funds and donations will again be Horizons at Sacred Heart University

On Saturday November 9 The Fairfield Theatre Company, locate at 70 Sanford Street in downtown Fairfield, will be opening its doors and its stage once again for Ferrara and The Dini Band to present their second fundraising concert in support of Aunt Terry, Inc. and Horizons of Sacred Heart University. Band members include Beth Bradley, Marion Najamy, Randy Stuckless, and David Boskello. The opening set will feature vocalist, Sarah Ferro, accompanied on piano by Heather Hamilton.

Two of the current board members and founding directors, Ferrara and Sacred Heart University Professor and Associate Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences Michelle Loris were inspired by Theresa “Aunt Terry” Martinez who was their close friend for many years. Martinez took it upon herself to locate an elementary school child in need, and mentored the child until she went to college capping off the mentorship with a new laptop computer and more importantly, with priceless counsel and advice to go forward in life successfully. This mentorship has set the stage for the Aunt Terry, Inc. team. “Family was paramount to Theresa. Somehow, despite her health issues, which continually caused her pain and fatigue, she made the time to maintain special relationships with everyone in her family circle. And, remarkably, her spirit and love brought the various branches of her family together,” remarks Ferrara.

Tickets for ‘The Dini Band’ concert at FTC on Saturday November 10 can be purchased on the FTC website at http://www.fairfieldtheatre.org or by calling the FTC box office at 203-259-1036.
