Annual Tidy Up Trumbull Starts This Weekend

Pitch in this weekend or during the week to help beautify the community.

Tidy Up Trumbull, the annual event sponsored by Trumbull Community Women (TCW) that gives residents the chance to make a difference in beautifying parks, trails, roadsides and parking areas, will be held this year on Saturday, April 5, from 9 a.m. to noon, culminating in a lunch for volunteers in Twin Brooks Park from noon to 1:30 p.m.

Although this year most of the effort will be concentrated on that one day, volunteers are encouraged to pitch in anytime it is convenient for them. Crews may be out all week long, with gloves and leaf bags, scouring our town until it shines.

Groups that meet during the week are welcome to schedule at their convenience but should check in with TCW so as not to duplicate projects.

Each year over 100 volunteers have become involved in the cleanup: scouts, town and civic organizations, teens who want community service hours, school groups, sports teams, families and local businesses.

Alternate dates for cleanup projects are Earth Day, April 22, or Arbor Day, April 26.

Anyone who has a particular project in mind or would like to organize a team should visit www.trumbullcommunitywomen.org or phone Monica Leggett at 203-209-5462. All volunteers are welcome and appreciated.
