Franchises: How to Pick for Success, with Paska Nayden & Lena Gjonaj!  Programs for Businesses and Business People.  Thurs. Oct. 18, 6:30 – 8pm. Business ownership could be for you!  80% of working adults are not satisfied with their jobs.  If you are one of them, be your own boss with a franchise in one of 75 different industries!  Reservations requested.  Free. 

Zomibification Make-Up Workshop. Teens and Tweens! Mon. Oct. 22, 5 – 7pm.  Use professional stage makeup and ordinary items to transform yourself into a zombie!  Professional makeup artist Caroline Wilcox will show you how!  It will get messy, so wear your ragged zombie clothing!  Reservations required; space limited.  Free.

Family Chess Club. Sat. Oct. 20, 10am - 12pm.  Chess learners and experts from 4 to 94 are welcome. Meet in the Children's Section with your own board, or come to watch.  Club meets the first and third Saturdays (except for long weekends).  Free.

 

Fairytale Festival--Create Your Own Fairy House or Dragon Lair.  Sun. Oct. 21, 2 – 3pm.  Trumbull children and their parents/caregivers are invited to create a fairy house or dragon lair.  All supplies will be provided, but feel free to bring any small trinkets you may like to add.  Ages 5 and up.  Register.   

 

Music Class with Music Mandy at the Main Library.  Mon. Oct. 22, 10 - 10:30am.  Learn songs,  literary connections and movement.  Five-week class for Trumbull 3 - 4 year olds to attend on their own.  Caregivers are asked to remain in the Children's area.  Space limited; registration required.    

 

Fairytale Festival--3 Little Pigs and their 3 Little Houses.  Mon. Oct.  22, 3 – 3:45pm.  Enjoy the 3 Little Pigs and recreate their houses.  Trumbull children ages 4 years and up.  Register.   

 

Storytime for 2's. Tues. Oct. 23, 9:30 – 10am. Toddlers bring your caregivers! Stories, music and an easy craft round out a fun morning. Children or caregivers living in Trumbull, only. Space limited. Register.

 

Storytime for 2 ½ - 3 Year Olds.  Tues. Oct. 23, 10:30–11am or Wed. Oct. 24, 9:30-10am. Eye-catching books, fingerplays, music, and a themed craft make for a wonderful learning experience for our young pre-readers and their caregivers. Trumbull children or caregivers.  Register.  

 

Storytime for 4's & 5's. Tues. Oct. 23, 11 – 11:30am. Storytime friends gather to hear age appropriate stories and create a take-home craft. Children or caregivers living in Trumbull only. Space limited. Register.   

 

Fairy Tale Festival--Not-to-Be Missed Messy Mystery Craft Program (ages 7 - 10).  Tues. Oct. 4 – 5pm.  What will you create? What will you hear? Who knows; but it will be fun! Join your library friends for this monthly program.  Special Edition Goldilocks and the Three Dinosaurs!  Register. 

 

Baby Cafe - 6 months to 2 years. Wed. Oct.24 or Thurs. Oct. 25, 11 – 11:30am. Baby's first introduction to the library! Babies and caregivers can expect a jam-packed session of rhythm and rhymes guaranteed to enchant our littlest explorers. Drop in! 

 

Fairytale Festival—The Ugly, Truly Ugly, Duckling.  Wed. Oct.  24, 4 - 4:45pm.  Trumbull children ages 5 years and up are invited to create a truly unique (ugly) duck of their own.   Register. 

 

Fairytale Festival-Princess and the Pea.  Thurs. Oct. 25, 10 - 10:30am.  Trumbull children ages 3 years and up are invited to listen and recreate the infamous bedding that found the prince his true love.  Register. 

 

Fairchild Nichols Branch

 

Howlarious Halloween Yuk It Up @ Fairchild-Nichols Branch.  Sat. Oct. 20, 11am – 12pm.  This show of classic ghost stories, songs and jokes will make you jump, giggle and groan like a coffin lid.   Mary Jo Maichack’s version of e. e. cummings’ “hist whist,” starts the spookiest, eeriest set of Halloween fun.  Ages 5 and up.  Child or caregiver Trumbull resident.  Register.   

 

Storytime for 4’s at the Branch. Tues. Oct. 23, 10:15 – 10:45am.  Come for a morning of music, stories, and a craft. Caregivers are asked to remain in the Children's Services area. Children or caregivers living in Trumbull only. Space limited; register.

 

Little Kids Yoga for Ages 3 to 5 with Janey.  Tues. Oct. 23, 11 – 11:45am. This six-week program teaches little ones to stretch high to the sky and create cool animal shapes with your body. Children or caregivers living in Trumbull only. Space limited; register.

Fairchild Baby Café for ages 6 months to 2 years.  Thurs. Oct. 25, 10:15 – 10:45am. Introduce your little one to books, music, rhymes and finger play to bond, have fun and increase early literacy skills! Children or caregivers living in Trumbull, only. Drop in.

Storytime for 2’s and 3’s at the Branch.  Thurs. Oct. 25, 11 – 11:30am. We will have a little bit of music, a little bit of dancing, a lot a bit of stories and a show stopping craft. Children or caregivers living in Trumbull only. Space limited. Register.
