June is Dog License Month

JUNE IS DOG LICENSE MONTH

All dogs, large and small, must be must be licensed in the month of June. This is a Connecticut State Law. All dogs in the State of Connecticut (six) months old or older must be licensed each year in the town where they reside in the month of June.  Current rabies certificate is required for all dogs; and a neutered/spayed certificate is required for dogs that will be licensed for the first time or if recently neutered or spayed. It is very important that you bring in the required certificates since this office will not call the veterinarian.

To license your dog come to the Trumbull Town Clerk's office, and complete the application. Or bring it with you already completed by clicking here for the Dog License Application.

To obtain a dog license, dog owners must present:

  • Current rabies certificate
  • Proof of spaying or neutering
  • Provide pet information: name, address, phone, owner's name, type of dog

Dog licenses need to be renewed every June. The yearly fee is $8.00 for an altered dog, or $19.00 for an unaltered dog.  The late renewal charge is $1.00 per month.
