This Week Should Heat Up

Technically, it's still summer until Sept. 21.

As if to remind us, the temperature is predicted to rise Tuesday and hit 87 on Wednesday before falling back to 73 by Friday, according to the National Weather Service.

But don't be fooled. The day's warmth will give way to 50-degree temperatures at night.

Here's the week's forecast:

  • Tuesday: A slight chance of showers before 10am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 81. South wind 7 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
  • Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 70. West wind 6 to 9 mph.
  • Wednesday: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 87. Southwest wind 5 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
  • Wednesday Night: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 68. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
  • Thursday: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 81. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
  • Thursday Night: Showers and thunderstorms likely. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 60. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
  • Friday: Partly sunny, with a high near 73.
  • Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 49.
  • Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 68.
  • Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 47.
  • Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 70.
