Non-Profit Trumbull Nature Center Group Seeks Members

The group serves the Trumbull Nature and Arts Center.

If you've ever wanted to help the Trumbull Nature & Arts Center, now is your chance.

The Patrons of the Trumbull Nature & Arts Center (TNAC) needs volunteers to fill positions immediately.

“We are fortunate to have a very active and engaged board of directors.  However, the challenges that lie ahead in fundraising, community engagement, legal, and program development all require that we broaden our base of support, starting with the board, and extending to other key volunteer positions,” said President Kevin Malone.

The Board meets up to 12 times per year with meetings typically lasting approximately 90 minutes and being held at the TNAC facility. Board members are expected to regularly attend and participate in meetings, as well as actively participate on at least one committee.  Interest and experience in conservation, environmental education and fundraising are ideal but not required.

Areas of opportunity for new board members to serve include programming, volunteer recruitment and management, event planning, and fundraising.

The group was formed in 2011 as the private-sector partner of the Trumbull Nature Commission, and serves as the non-profit management and fundraising arm of the Trumbull Nature & Arts Center Located on the former Wagner Tree Farm property.

The center offers environmental and art programming for children of all ages, as well as special events and community action days.

Newly elected board members include: Kevin Malone (President); Scot Kerr (VP/Treasurer); Kristine Saccone (Secretary); and Rasa Malish, all residents of Trumbull; and Michael Daoust of Sun Products.
