Trumbull Rings in Christmas

A day before the one-year anniversary of the Sandy Hook School Shootings in Newtown, Trumbull lit its Christmas Tree and First Selectman Tim Herbst asked residents to remember the event.

"I'm asking everyone to commit an act of kindness," he said.

A firetruck covered in Christmas lights gave Santa a ride and the audience was treated to Christmas carols from Trumbull middle school students and hot chocolate to counteract the freezing temperatures.

Also on hand were state reps. Tony Hwang and David Rutigliano.
