High Tea and Concert at St. Timothy's in Fairfield

Summer High Tea and Concert at Anam Cara August 19th at 3 pm  The Anam Cara Christian Center for Spiritual Life at St. Timothy's on the Hill in Fairfield is piloting an Artist-in-Residency program. Singer/songwriter/pianist Elaine Romanelli will be working on site at the Center from August 13-19th, culminating in a Sunday afternoon high tea at 3:00 pm, August 19th, immediately followed by Concert-and-Conversation with the artist at 4:00pm. (Ms. Romanelli will also sing at the 9:30 am service at St. Timothy's on August 19th.) The residency allows the Center to further its mission as 'soul friend’ (anam cara) to anyone desiring a more mindful spiritual journey. The Center will furnish artists, especially those working under the Christian umbrella, with space and time to explore connections between effort, inspiration and spirituality. During the week works may be written, revised, re-interpreted, and/or rehearsed. The Concert-with-Conversation at the end of the residency provides an opportunity for the artist to share the experience and results of the week, and for the community to learn more about an artist's process and journey. Pilot artist Elaine Romanelli is a nationally touring independent artist, playing about 100 solo shows a year at listening rooms, coffee houses, house concerts, and festivals. Her original music is folk/pop with a Celtic lilt. Her 2010 album Real Deal can be heard on terrestrial and online radio stations. She is a classically trained vocalist (Stanford University, Aspen Music Festival) who has been a soloist at many churches, including the Cathedral of St. John the Divine. She is currently a soloist with the Church of St. Matthew and St. Timothy in NYC. To hear music samples or learn more about Elaine, visit www.elaineromanelli.com .
