The Prayer Body Shop

Need a Little Peace and Quiet in the Midst of the Holiday Rush?

During Advent, as the weather turns colder, the hour of darkness comes earlier and the stress of the holiday season keeps nipping at your heels, Grace Church is offering an opportunity for you to intentionally set aside a time of silence and centering in the middle of your week.  The Prayer Body Shop takes place on the Thursday evenings of Advent in the chapel of Grace Episcopal Church.  The chapel will be illuminated entirely with candles as a guided meditation and quiet music help you release the stress of the day.  We’ll then center ourselves with a period of silence before offering our simple prayers for ourselves, our loved ones and the world, either silently or aloud.  Previous experience with prayer or meditation is not required, and clear guidance is offered for beginners.  Centering prayer is a profoundly calming and spiritual practice that anyone can learn, and all are invited to bring themselves - just as they are - to spend some healing and quiet time in the loving presence of God.  It’s a great way to de-stress and re-focus during the holidays.  The chapel is set up with chairs, but if you prefer to use a meditation pillow or bench, feel free to bring one along with you.

Find an oasis of peace in the middle of your week at The Prayer Body Shop - Thursday evenings from 6:00-6:45 during Advent (December 1, 8, 15 and 22) in the chapel of Grace Episcopal Church, 5958 Main Street, Trumbull.  For more information, visit www.gracetrumbull.org
