2 Workshops Before Feb. 9 'Solarize' Deadline

Still want to go solar in Trumbull, Easton or Redding? Two more meetings are scheduled for this week.

The deadline for signing a contract under the Solarize Redding-Easton-Trumbull program Feb. 9. The workshops will be held Jan. 14 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in Town Hall, and Jan. 18 at the Easton Library from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., 691 Morehouse Road.

"Many Easton, Redding and Trumbull residents have already signed contracts, collectively generating 100.54 kW of power, bringing Solarize Easton-Redding-Trumbull to Tier 3 pricing. As the number of homeowners who install solar increases, the price drops for everyone in Solarize Easton-Redding-Trumbull," according to a press release.

“We are excited that so many residents in the three communities, well over 500, have been able to learn about their home’s potential for solar,” said Edward Lavernoich, Trumbull’s Economic & Community Development Director, “We are confident we will reach Tier 5 pricing, the lowest pricing available for our residents.”

The workshops will focus on the financing options available to Trumbull residents. Homeowners who have already had home evaluations are encouraged to bring their proposals to the workshop and ask questions specific to their home.

Sunlight Solar, the official installer for Solarize Easton-Redding-Trumbull, will host the event, provide refreshments, and answer questions about the program and how solar works.

In exchange for outreach support from Easton, Redding and Trumbull, Sunlight Solar, is offering discounted pricing to residents of the three towns.
