Another Trumbull Small Business Closes

As Trumbullites await the reopening of Marie's Sandwich Shop in Trumbull Center, Aliette Monjoux in the same plaza appears to have closed its doors.

A phone call leads to a disconnected number.

The salon joins its neighbor, Frances' Bakery and the UPS Store, which moved earlier this year. Porricell's closed in late 2012.

But Marie's, which closed in March, is eyeing a comeback, said Ed Lavernoich, Trumbull's Economic Development Director.

"The work to-date in the space has been primarily clean-up and some minor demolition.  The new operator would obviously like to open soon and is aiming for next month [September], but the critical path requires an acceptable plan for the Health District," Lavernoich said.

Other anticipated changes to Trumbull Center include demolishing offices at 965 White Plains Road and building a CVS Pharmacy there. CVS took over MacKenzie's Pharmacy in March.

No timetable has been released for that plan.

Meanwhile, Parker's Steaks and Scotch has opened across the street in a former shopping center.
