It dates back to 1953 and it'll run you $899.99.
We're talking about a bottle of Hine brand cognac, and it's the most expensive bottle of liquor at Racebrook Wine and Liquor World, according to Tom Smith of Trumbull, whose family owns the store.
"You can't get it anymore," Tom Smith says.
The Smiths inherited the bottle when they purchased the store, located at 302 Racebrook Road in Orange, four years ago.
Of course, Racebrook sells hundreds of other bottles — of liquor, beer and wine — that won't break the bank.
The store, which boasts about 13,000-sqaure-feet of space and an impressive selection, was voted the Orange Patch Best Liquor Store in town in 2012.
The Smiths — dad Tom and mom Liz, and their sons, Tom, Steve, Mike and Ryan — are from Trumbull. Tom Sr. owned Julian's liquor store in the Black Rock section of Bridgeport for 22 years up until about seven years ago, his son Tom says.
What's the most expensive bottle of liquor or wine you've had? Was it worth it?
