Board of Education Candidate Anthony Timpanelli

My experience in the educational field spans thirty-five years, all in the Darien School District.  I began my career as a classroom teacher at the elementary level and moved to the middle school when my grade level was incorporated into the middle level team teaching model.  I was able to impart my knowledge of the classroom and blend it with the implementation of current and meaningful programming for my school district.  While at the middle school, I was selected as a Team Leader and the Director of the Summer School Program. I was promoted to Assistant Principal and then as Principal at the elementary level in a school which achieved Blue Ribbon status.  I held that position until my retirement.

During my teaching career I earned a Masters in Elementary Education, a Sixth Year Professional Diploma, a two year Masters Degree in curriculum and a Doctorate from Teachers College, Columbia University.  I also served as a Bank Officer prior to entering the educational field.

I have been a Trumbull resident for nineteen years.  I have been married for 21 years to my spouse, Lucinda.

I have participated in the First Selectman's Golf Classic since its inception, served as a judge at the Invention Convention at Jane Ryan School, and was a volunteer in the Read Aloud program at Daniels Farm School.

If elected to the Trumbull Board of Education, my vision will be to insure that our fine schools continue their goal toward excellence utilizing fiscal responsibility, and that our students are prepared for the demands they will encounter in the world of work in the 21st century.
