Himes Backs Trumbull Dems

Trumbull's democrats have a backer in U.S. Rep. Jim Himes.

"I write today to endorse Martha Jankovic-Mark for First Selectman and the entire Democratic slate of Trumbull. The Democratic team you can vote for on Nov. 5 has significant qualifications suited to the leadership roles they are seeking," Himes said.

"Martha has been an active and dedicated community leader in Trumbull over the past several years and has the background and vision to lead Trumbull. During her eight years on the Town Council, Martha has worked to promote the sensible investment required for critical services such as quality education and public safety.

"I know Martha to be an unwavering but approachable public servant who listens to her constituents, always placing their needs above partisan politics. Whether she is fighting for tax relief for seniors or volunteering countless hours to Trumbull’s public schools and youth advocacy groups, Martha consistently works to make Trumbull a great place to live for all of its residents. I know that she will continue to do so as First Selectman," he concluded.

He also urged voters support Rosemary Seaman, Anthony Timpanelli, Lainie McHugh and Tom Tesoro for Board of Education.

"Their combined experience in both educational systems and in the private sector give them the vision and expertise to well serve Trumbull's residents and children," the congressman said.

He also praised Board of Finance candidates Kathy McGannon, Andrew Palo and Tom Kelly, saying they offer "town-wide experience and expansive knowledge on the issues that will come before the board."

"Martha and the exceptional slate of Democratic candidates have a plan for a vibrant and prosperous Trumbull and I hope you will join me in supporting them on Tuesday," Himes said.
