Town Council Candidate: Roy Fuchs

Editor – After reporting on and blogging about Trumbull’s Board of Education, Board of Finance and Town Council for three years I am now a candidate for Town Council in the new District Three.

My wife and I moved to Trumbull from Westport as empty nesters eight years ago. In Westport, where we lived for 30 years, I was elected to two four year terms on the town’s Board of Finance, I was appointed by the Superintendent  of Schools to two important study committees, and by the First Selectwoman to the board of a multi-town planning agency.

Here, I am Programming Chair for Trumbull Community Television (channels 17 and 99), I serve on the Library’s One Book One Town committee, and am a member of the schools’ Technology Committee.

As a councilman I will draw on this experience to work to make council debate more comprehensive, collaborative and open. I will be aggressive in assuring constituents that taxpayer funds are spent wisely to carry out community strengthening programs – that our schools remain strong, that my fellow senior citizens have programs and facilities we need to enjoy the “80 is the new 60” part of our lives, and that all town services are delivered effectively and efficiently.

I am a retired financial and marketing executive with a broad background in traditional manufacturing and in technology. I have become an active volunteer, as a teacher of English as a Second Language in Bridgeport, and a member of two service organizations, for which I write handle publicity.
