Trumbull Tax Collector Praises Herbst, Town Staff

To the Editor, 

Over the past four (4) years, I have had the honor of working in the Trumbull Town Hall as your Tax Collector.  I am writing, with sincere candor, of my personal experiences with my fellow employees at Town Hall. 

Town residents frequently express their frustration about certain issues and our town employees are often faced with difficult situations to explain that are out of our control.  We have to follow town ordinances and state statutes to professionally operate and the town hall employees do a great job in explaining and clarifying issues, leaving our residents with a clear understanding of our policies and procedures.  Our residents should feel extremely proud of their Town Hall employees who possess a strong work ethic, depth and knowledge of their job responsibilities and a commitment of loyalty to Trumbull.  It is a pleasure to work with these co-workers of both political parties and it is an excellent example of  teamwork. 

First Selectman Tim Herbst should be congratulated for retaining many of these hard-working, dedicated employees.  He sets an example of the qualities a leader should possess – hard work, dedication, honesty and a commitment to excellence.  He expresses his gratitude in many ways and is often visiting our departments and conversing with us.  Trumbull is very fortunate to have Tim Herbst as our leader and the fine team at Town Hall work together to serve the residents of our great town.
