Antiques & Collectibles Appraisal Fair
TREASURE OR TRASH?
Have you discovered something interesting in your attic or basement? Found a bargain at a yard sale? inherited a family heirloom? Would you like to know if it's valuable or just a useless piece of junk? You can find out by bringing it to the Antiques & Collectibles Appraisal Fair between 1:00 and 5:00 Saturday, April 19 at the Community Room of the Trumbull Library on Quality Street. The Fair is sponsored by the Trumbull Center Lions Club.
Appraisals will be provided by Christine Cali and John Butler of All That Glitters in Black Rock. They will evaluate art, jewelry, figurines, china, collectibles, comics, toys, cards, sports memorabilia and items from World War II.
There will also be an exhibit of the collection of Civil War relics owned by Jeffrey Cook, president of the Trumbull Lions Club.
The cost for appraising one item is $10, two for $20 and three for $25. The admission for those with no items to appraise and who would like to view the exhibit and appraisals is $5.
Formal written appraisals can be arranged by appointment by calling Christine at 203 258-0268.
Visitors to the Fair are invited to bring any old or unwanted eyeglasses, prescription sunglasses and hearing aids. These will be refurbished and distributed free of charge by the Lions in impoverished third world countries, where these vital items are not otherwise available.
All funds raised by the Trumbull Center Lions Club at the Antiques & Collectibles Appraisal Fair will go to the new Pediatric Eye Center at Yale-New Haven Hospital.
