CT Pastel Society President to demonstrate at September 7 meeting of Connecticut Classic Art s
Connecticut Classic Arts will begin its fall season on September 5, beginning at 1:00 p.m. in the Community Room at the Trumbull Library. The program will feature Alain J. Picard, a frequent workshop instructor and demonstrator where he will paint a pastel portrait using a live model. Picard, the president of the Connecticut Pastel Society, has garnered top awards throughout the Northeast and won the Best Portfolio Award at the 2009 Portrait Society of America Conference in Washington, D.C . He was recently invited to demonstrate a pastel at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. His studio is located in Southbury, CT. The meeting is free for members and $3 for non-members.
