Hammer Horror Double Feature: The Mummy (1959) and The Curse of the Werewolf
From across the pond comes a double dose of technicolor terror! Hammer Films nearly single-handedly reinvented the gothic horror genre in the 1950s and 1960s, with eroticism and visceral scares never seen before. Hammer stalwarts Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing do what they do best in the studio’s spellbinding take on the classic Mummy mythos. Meanwhile, a very young Oliver Reed takes the lead in Hammer’s one and only lyncanthope picture, The Curse of the Werewolf. Put them both together, and you have a rollicking classic monster battle royale–all in the bold, brash Hammer style!
