UN Day Celebration

United Nations Day:  A Celebration of Peace Keeping


The Model United Nations Club at Trumbull High School invites you to the 67th United Nations Day Celebration on Wednesday, October 24th, 2012.


Trumbull, CT:  This year, Trumbull will have its third annual UN Day celebration, to commemorate 67 years of peace keeping in the modern world.  The day will take place on October 24th from 9:30am – 10:30am at the gazebo at Trumbull Town Hall.

The Trumbull High School Model UN Club is the sponsor for this celebration.  Trumbull High School’s Chamber Singers will be providing music for the event.  The celebration concludes with a special presentation by the seniors in Trumbull's Model UN Club.


The purpose of the UN Day Celebration is to inform the public about the success of the United Nations and to bring light to all of the efforts they have put in towards maintaining peace around the world. First Selectman Tim Herbst and Representative Tony Hwang will offer the official declarations. Minh-Thu Pham will address the audience as the 2012 keynote speaker.  Minh-Thu Pham has had many experiences in the UN including being the Director of Public Policy at the United Nations Foundation.
