FREE Lunch & Learn – Frankly Speaking About Cancer

WHERE: Fairfield Public Library Main Branch, 1080 Old Post Road, Fairfield, CT, Memorial Room – 2nd Floor

WHEN: Sunday, November 3

TIME: 1:30–4:30 pm

The Cancer Support Community of Southern Connecticut will be hosting “FREE Lunch & Learn – Frankly Speaking About Cancer” on Sunday, November 3, 2013, at the Fairfield Public Library Main Branch. The following workshops will be offered during the event:

1:30pm - Coping with the Cost of Care: This free workshop is designed for people living with cancer and their loved ones. Friends and family are always welcome. Participants will gain practical advice on how to navigate the numerous and complex challenges of managing the cost of cancer care. Topics range from insurance claims, medications and therapies.

2:30pm - Advanced Breast Cancer: This session will focus on the needs of women newly diagnosed with advanced (metastatic) breast cancer. It will give those living with breast cancer, as well as their families, the opportunity to learn more about the disease and develop the skills necessary to become an active and informed partner with their treatment team.

3:30pm - Breast Reconstruction: This free workshop will provide information on breast reconstruction after a breast cancer diagnosis. Participants will learn about breast reconstruction and non-reconstruction options, making decisions right for you, how to prepare and what to expect. Friends and family are welcome.

About CSC-SCT: The Cancer Support Community of Southern Connecticut (CSC-SCT) is an affiliate of the Cancer Support Community – an international network of independently chartered non-profit organizations.
