Community Corner

Monroe/Trumbull Bink-A-Thon

Join us at Monroe's Town Hall to create as many blankets as we can in one afternoon.

Blankets will be delivered to Yale, Griffin, St. Vincent, and Bridgeport hospitals, just to name a few.

We will provide fleece material and children and adults alike can stop by and help us cut and tie.  This is a great chance for kids and teens to earn community service hours.  If you can cut and tie, you can make a blanket!  Children must have an adult with them at all times (adults can help too!).

Knitter/crocheters corner will also be set up so people can knit and crochet squares.

Completed blankets can also be dropped off that day and included in the count of total blankets.  They can be dropped off ahead of time as well at Salon Sanctuary or Patience Pediatrics of Monroe.

Binky Patrol's main chapter in Oregon is having a binkathon on that same day... they think they can make more blankets than we can.  I told them to bring it on! Go Connecticut go!

To make this happen, we will need donation.  Here's our wish list:
--fleece material (solid and pattern)
--fleece blanket kits
--gift cards to Joann's or Michael's
--snacks an drinks.
Checks can be mailed out to Binky Patrol Connecticut.  Visit www.facebook.com/ctbinky for more information.

Questions about the binkathon? Call Jeanne at 203-449-3985 (Monroe) or Cynthia at 203-933-4389 (Trumbull).

Thank you!
