Tales from the Trails: The History of the Pequonnock River Valley

Jennifer Winschel will be the speaker at the Trumbull Historical Society's open house on Sunday, October 20.  "Tales from the Trails'  will be her subject. Centered on the Pequonnock Valley Railway Trail and sites found nearby, she will use stories and photos to share what she has learned about the area over the last several years. Jennifer is a board member of the Historical Society and recently earned another Master's Degree from the Graduate Institute with the focus of her work on the trails.Get there early, seating is limited. This event is free, but donations to the Historical Society are greatly appreciated.

Part 2- See the Sites!

On Saturday, October 26, volunteers from the Nature and Arts Center and Historical Society will lead the annual hike through the valley so you can really see the sites that Jennifer told you about earlier in the week!  We will start at 11:00am from the commuter parking lot on Park Street.  Be there at 10:45.  The hike should take about 2 hours and cover 21/2 miles.  Bring water and wear comfortable shoes.
