Trumbull EMS Offering 'Hands-Only' CPR Course

What would you do if someone collapsed in front of you and wasn't breathing?

You should dial 911, but you can help medics by performing CPR. Without the "mouth-to-mouth" breathing.

Hands-only CPR is the new way to help someone who has stopped breathing, and you can learn it Thursday, Jan. 16, at Trumbull EMS.

"People who experience cardiac arrest need quick cardiopulmonary resuscitation in the first 3-5 minutes to increase their chance of survival.  CPR training is one way to increase the number of people in our community who are prepared to help in cardiovascular emergencies," said Trumbull EMS Executive Director Joseph Laucella.

Residents can choose to participate in one of the two sessions.  The first session will begin at 6 p.m. and the second session will begin at 7:30 p.m.
