Joanna M. Leone book tour.

I am honored and excited about being invited to speak at the New Canaan Rotary Club luncheon meeting this Thursday, 8/22 at the Roger Sherman Inn. They were the first Rotary Club to reach out to me and I am very appreciative.  My success as an author is not about me, but about the people who show interest and who may decide to purchase the book at the event or at some point in the future.  Most importantly, it is the people who allowed me to write about their historical accounts of World War II, culture, traditions, celebrations, modern day stories and struggles. It is gratifying when a person or organization reaches out to me and asks me to be a guest speaker about my book, "Slices of Life Italian-American Stories."

Just today a member of the Trumbull Woman's Club, Mary Murphy of the Education Committee and Barbara Pezzullo reached out to me after reading an article about my book. I look forward to having lunch with the Trumbull Woman's Club on September 3rd during their next meeting as they want me to speak about my current book and my next photo book.  It is flattering that many people in my hometown and other towns throughout CT have really shown their support.   My lectures are for cultural, professional,  and educational groups.  This summer has been rewarding and I know that my book has appealed to wonderful people from all different backgrounds.   I hope to see some of you at my next book signings, especially this Saturday at the Townhouse Salon on 8 Lake Avenue in Trumbull from 9am-4pm. You can also visit my vendor table at Captain's Cove in Bridgeport this Sunday, 8/25 during the fun-filled Blue Fish tournament. I know my book will end up on a lot of coffee tables, desks, book shelves or during holiday gift seasons. Most of all, I have reached my goal of spreading the word into many cultural, social and educational groups. I am lucky to have met so many vibrant people from many towns and cities in Connecticut. My book contains many stories which warm the heart and life lessons, but I have also learned a lot from the people that I have written about and from the people I have met.  I am thankful.
