George J. Brezina, 86

George J. Brezina, age 86, of Trumbull, beloved husband of Florence Tappe Brezina, passed away on Friday, November 22, 2013 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Bridgeport on October 20, 1927, he was a son of the late Joseph and Mary Brezina. A U.S. Army veteran, George was a retired employee of General Electric with 35 years of dedicated service and was a member of the GE Quarter Century Club. A dedicated member of Unity Hill Church of Christ, he was chairman of the Stewardship Committee for many years and felt fulfillment with his hard work, dedication and commitment to the church and Christ. George enjoyed playing poker, bus trips to the casino and helping his daughter at her ceramic shop. His happiest memories were the endless summer nights by the pool with his children and grandchildren, laughing and making memories that will last forever. He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather who was a true family man in every sense of the word, he will be missed by all. In addition to his devoted wife, Florence of 64 years, survivors include three loving children, Dawn Brezina and Lori Brezina both of Trumbull and David Brezina and his wife Sharon of Seymour, three cherished grandchildren, David George, Kaelyn and Emily, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, John, Anna, Mary, Joseph, Frank and Paul.

Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in Unity Hill United Church of Christ, 364 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment with military honors will follow in Nichols Village Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Monday from 4–8 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
