Helene Reilly Wilczynski, loving wife of the late Thomas Wilczynski Sr., passed away January 14, 2013. She was a long time Trumbull resident before moving to Monroe and then to Southbury where she lived for the past 7 years. Helene was born in the Bronx, NY to John and Helen Reilly.
Our mother was an active member of Sacred Heart Church in Southbury and a dedicated volunteer at the Southbury Food Bank where she directed volunteer activities. You could always count on mom to put the arm on you to support her monthly food drive distributions – family, friends and casual acquaintances were never safe from hard work when she needed you to volunteer. She dedicated her life to the service of others guiding countless people at the most difficult time of their lives.
For many years she was a volunteer at St. Vincent's Medical Center gift shop where she and friends would spend countless hours decorating the shop for holidays.
Nothing gave her more joy then spending time with friends and family. She is survived by her four children, Thomas Wilczynski, Jr., his wife Dacey Doherty and sons Thomas and Ryan of Shelton – Daniel and Laurie Wilczynski and their children Caitlin and Brian of Trumbull – Linda and Peter Nagle of Wakefield, MA — James Wilczynski, his wife Heather Ross and their daughters Emma and Abby of Southbury. In addition to her husband and parents she is predeceased by three brothers John Reilly, Robert Reilly and Thomas Reilly.
Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, January 19, 2013, at 10:00 AM at St. Jude Parish 707 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe, CT. Followed by internment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery 1056 Daniels Farm Road Trumbull, CT. Calling hours will take place from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, January 18, 2013 at Spadaccino & Leo P.
