Obituary: John E. Shemanski, Jr., 46

Mr. Shemanski was a Little League coach, was active in the Boy Scouts and was a communicant of St. Vincent Ferrer Church in Naugatuck.

John E. Shemanski, Jr., 46, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2013, at Sloan Kettering Memorial Hospital in New York City. He was husband to Deolinda (Carinha) Shemanski.  

John was born in Waterbury, Conn., on Oct. 17, 1966, son of John E. Shemanski, Sr., and Shirley (Zelinski) Shemanski of Naugatuck. He was a lifelong Naugatuck resident, and he worked as a network engineer at Affinion Group in Trumbull until his illness.  John enjoyed golf, coached Little League Baseball and was actively involved in Boy Scouts. He was a member of the Polish American Club and a communicant of St. Vincent Ferrer Church of Naugatuck. John also enjoyed the beach and spending time with his family.
 
Besides his wife and parents of Naugatuck, he leaves his sons Brandon and Ryan Shemanski; his sister Joan Neveski of Naugatuck; his mother-in-law Maria Carinha of North Myrtle Beach, S.C., his niece Samantha Neveski; and nephews Adam Neveski, Ethan Ruskay and Frank Carinha.  He also leaves many cousins.
 
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday March 27, 2013, at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent Ferrer Church, 1006 New Haven Road, Naugatuck. Please meet directly at the church at 9:45 a.m. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck.
