1 Arrested in Trumbull Gas Station Robbery, 1 More to be Charged

Police released the information Tuesday afternoon.

A Bridgeport man is accused of robbing Gene's gas station and a former Monroe woman is also expected to be charged.

Police said Tuesday, "An arrest warrant was served today upon Kashawn Brown, DOB 03/28/89, last of 1512 North Ave., for the Nov. 14 armed robbery of Gene’s Automotive located at 6567 Main St., Trumbull.  Brown was detained on a Court Set Bond of $100,000 and is currently being held at the McDougal/Douglas Correctional Center."

Trumbull police added that an arrest warrant is to be served Dec. 19 on Patricia Mercaldi, 29, who now has an address of Whittier Street, Bridgeport. She's charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny. Bond will be set at arraignment.

Police have said a civilian helped officers identify the robbery suspects by following the alleged getaway car, believed to be driven by Mercaldi.

The pair may be responsible for numerous robberies in the region, according to police.
