The incident was just reported about 4:15 p.m.

Update, 6 p.m.

Trumbull Police have released the following statement:

According to Deputy Police Chief Michael Harry, about 3:55 pm, "a youth was struck by a motor vehicle while attempting to cross white plains road (RT127).

While the investigation is in its preliminary stage, it appears that a youth, approximately 13 years old and who has not yet been identified, was attempting to cross White Plains Road in the area of the intersection of Reservoir Avenue. One vehicle in the southbound lane stopped for the youth and as he crossed, he was either struck or ran into the side of another southbound vehicle adjacent to the one that had stopped. White Plains Road is a four-lane roadway with two lanes in each direction.

The youth appeared to have sustained serious leg and arm injuries and was transported to Bridgeport hospital by Trumbull EMS.

No further information is available as the investigation has just begun."

I hope he will be ok - thank god he wasn't hurt more seriously. It appears he was in the crosswalk when hit - Was the driver of the car arrested? Please continue to update the story. This is a dangerous road and most drive to fast on it. It wasn't too long ago I was crossing at this same intersection with my kids after church and a driver in the right southbound lane stopped only to have a following car move and pass while we were in the crosswalk.
