Elderly Woman Injured in Booth Hill Road Fire Dies [Updated]

The 81-year-old was resuscitated at the scene of Tuesday's fire, but died in the hospital a couple of days later.

According to her obituary, Darline Meyers was a lifelong Trumbull resident. She was a retired secretary for the Housatonic Girls Scouts and also worked for St. Vincent's Medical Center in the admitting department. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Fairfield.

She is survived by several children and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home 399 White Plains Rd., Trumbull, with the Rev. Henry Brehm officiating. Interment in Lawn Cemetery, Huntington. Friends may call on Monday from 4-8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Fairfield 65 Church Hill Rd. Fairfield,CT 06825, the Housatonic Community College Foundation 900 Lafayette Blvd in Bridgeport.

The woman revived after Tuesday afternoon's fire at 691 Booth Hill Road has died.

Deputy Fire Marshal Alex Rauso confirmed her passing Friday night.

First Selectman Tim Herbst said Friday night he would reach out the family on Saturday.

"It's very sad news. On behalf of the town, our thoughts and prayers are with her and her loved ones," he said.

Fire Marshal Megan Murphy has said evidence points to electricity causing the fire, which heavily damaged the first floor of the small home.
