Report: School Project Was Object that Derailed Metro-North Service

It apparently was a school project that was inadvertently left behind that derailed the Friday morning rush hour on Metro-North Railroad.

According to The Connecticut Post, the box with a face painted on it and clock-hands attached was created as a school project. A street-cleaning crew noticed the package on the Unquowa Road bridge about 5:30 a.m. June 20 and called Fairfield Police who in turn called MTA Police and Connecticut State Police which dispatched its bomb squad, according to The Gothamist.

All train traffic was halted for nearly two hours, causing long delays for commuters.

The school project reportedly had a strong resemblence to Bender of Futurama
