A Bridgeport man is accused of having sexual contact with a minor from Shelton, police said Friday.
Kristal Turman, 36, is charged with fourth-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor, stemming from a warrant arrested Dec. 31, police said. He is also wanted for alleged sexual contact with minors in South Carolina and Georgia, police said.
Police said an investigation began in August 2013 when an allegation of sexual contact with a child was reported to police.
"The complaint alleges
that Turman had inappropriate sexual contact with a female in
Shelton on Aug. 24, 2013. The victim
was at a family member’s house when the alleged contact occurred," Shelton police Lt. Robert Kozlowsky said.
Turman is being held in lieu of $90,000 bond for an appearance Jan. 15 in Derby Superior Court.
