The State Police's Special Licensing and Firearms Unit advises that deadline for certain gun registrations is approaching.
"Assault Weapon Certificates and Large Capacity Magazine Declarations are two separate processes," according to a press release. "Obtaining a Certificate of Possession for an Assault Weapon does not complete the process for Large Capacity Magazine Declaration. If the magazines purchased with the weapon hold more than 10 rounds, the magazines must be declared separately."
The forms must be received or postmarked by Dec. 31. Any forms received afterwards will be returned unprocessed.
