State Police Search for Suspect in Identity Theft

The State Police have asked for public assistance to locate a suspect who used bogus credit cards at the Target store in New Britain.

The Connecticut State Police are conducting a criminal investigation into the theft of the identity of a Burlington resident.

A female suspect has used the Burlington resident's personal information to open several bogus charge accounts from Aug. 1  to Aug. 6. She is a suspect in the identity theft and larceny investigation.

Photographs of the suspect and a green Jeep Cherokee she was driving were taken at a Target store in New Britain on Aug. 2. The female suspect used a bogus credit card to purchase numerous items. The suspect has also used the fake card in New York, according to the state police.

It appears the suspect may have a tattoo on her upper chest, troopers report.

Anyone who may know the identification of this female suspect or who may recognize the suspect vehicle is asked to contact Connecticut  State Police Troop-L at 860-626-7900. All calls will be kept confidential.
