The following arrest information was supplied by the Trumbull Police Department. It does not indicate convictions.
Caregiver Accused
Garcia Mahoney, 36, of Wade Street, Bridgeport, is charged with third-degree larceny first-degree forgery.
Police said the live-in caregiver forged three checks totalling $2,400 and cashed them. The alleged victim's daughter noticed the checks and called police, according to reports.
Mahoney turned herself in to police March 15 and was released on a written promise to appear in court.
Burglary, Larceny Charged
Ean Anthony Szalan, 22, of the 1000 block of Main Street, Stratford, is charged with numerous counts of larceny and a count of third-degree burglary regarding separate incidents.
In one case Szalan is accused taking baby formula, total value $626, from Target in the Westfield Trumbull Mall, over several days. He was caught on video and charged with fifth-degree larceny, police said. His bond was set at $500.
In another incident, he entered his grandmother's Trumbull home and stole an LCD television set, police said.
Szalan was charged with third-degree burglary and sixth-degree larceny. His bond was set at $15,000. Both arrests were by warrant.
The incident leading to his arrest and the warrant service started after Szalan allegedly tried to steal from Monroe Stop & Shop. Trumbull police were notified he might be headed to Trumbull Stop & Shop and his car was located near the store.
He fled the vehicle and was detained on nearby Alden Avenue after a foot pursuit, police said.
Szalan took nearly $200 in DVDs from the store, police said.
The alleged driver, Regina Lauren, Baldino, 20, was arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny.
