Trumbull Man Accused of Having Drugs for Sale

The man alleged stopped behind a police cruiser and drove off, rousing suspicion. He was later arrested on drug charges.

A man is accused of having marijuana for sale after he allegedly fled from a cruiser.

Trumbull police said Jake Russell, 18, of Trumbull, stopped his car behind a police cruiser on Main Street near Stonehouse Road on March 19 and drove away quickly when he realized where he was.

Officers became suspicious and allegedly saw him hiding items under his seat.

After he pulled over, he admitted that 14 small bags of marijuana in his car belonged to him, police said.

Russell is charged with possession of marijuana, possession with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was released on a written promise to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court.
