Trumbull Driver Gets 20 Months in Fatal Crash

Vicky Kloc of Trumbull has been sentenced to nearly two years in prison after hitting a man with her car in October 2010 in Milford.
Kloc, of Spruce Street, was sentenced March 4 to five years in prison, suspended after 20 months, followed by three years of probation, according to the state's Judicial Branch Website.
She hit 44-year-old Kevin Burhance, who was walking across Bridgeport Avenue, on Oct. 3 near the Bridgeport Flyer Diner, police said. Burhance --a husband and father of nine from Kansas City, Kansas -- was in critical condition that night, but succumbed to his injuries two days later, police said.

An initial investigation led cops to immediately charge Kloc with driving while intoxicated and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, police said.
Milford police continued the probe, which resulted in an arrest warrant being issued for Kloc on the charge of manslaughter with a motor vehicle in the second degree, police said.

The crash came about a year after she was found guilty in 2009 in Derby Superior Court of driving with suspended license, according to the Judicial Branch Website. She was sentenced to a suspended term of 90 days in jail and one year of conditional discharge.
