Tyler C. Keiser of Trumbull is accused of pointing a black handgun at another driver during a road rage incident in Westport Thursday afternoon.
Westport Police said Keiser, 21, pulled the gun on another motorist as he was traveling on east on Post Road East near Bulkley Avenue about 5 p.m.
"It was reported that Keiser cut off the victim who then flashed his high beams at Keiser. Reportedly, Keiser then exited his vehicle and brandished the firearm," police said.
The alleged victim then called 911 and reported "a white male jumped out of his vehicle and pointed a black hand gun at him. The caller was able to obtain the license plate of the vehicle which was registered in Trumbull."
The car then headed toward Fairfield where it was stopped on Pemburn Drive by Fairfield police.
Police said they recovered a black Glock 9mm handgun on the suspect's waist, which was safely taken from Keiser without incident.
Keiser was charged with second-degree threatening, second-degree reckless endangerment and second-degree breach of the peace. He has a gun permit and the gun is registered, police said.
Keiser was released on a $2,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in the Norwalk Court on March 8.
