Campaign Notebook: Murphy's Congressional Attendance Debated

News and updates from the campaign trail in Connecticut.

Senate

One of several back-and-forth arguments between the candidates has been Chris Murphy’s attendance at hearings in Congress. Linda McMahon has hammered Murphy on the issue, reports CT News Junkie, but former U.S. Rep. Rob Simmons says the attendance record of only 20 percent isn’t entirely accurate.

Fourth District

Jim Himes (D) released a playlist of songs that help him when he needs an “extra push.” According to the Hartford Courant, some of the tunes included Pink Floyd’s Wish You Were Here, The Talking Heads’ Take me to the River and REM’s Orange Crush.

Steve Obsitnik (R): The Connecticut Post detailed a couple elections where Obsitnik failed to vote in an election, including the 2008 election that Himes won against incumbent Chris Shays. Obsitnik says he voted by absentee ballot that year, but no records were found.
