Fairfield Election Day 2012: Everything You Need to Know

From polling places to results and reactions for all local and state races, we've got you covered on Election Day.

Good morning, and welcome to Election Day 2012!

Today, Fairfield residents go to the polls to choose a president, a U.S. Senator, a U.S. Representative representing the 4th District, and State Representatives from the 132nd, 133rd, and 134th district. Other races -- State Senator from the 28th District and Registrar of Voters -- are uncontested.

See below for information on where to cast your ballot and the list of candidates. We've also included how Fairfield voted in 2008, the year of the last presidential election, and 2010, the last mid-term election.

Read it over, then visit your local polling station between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. to make your voice heard! And be sure to check back here for updates throughout the day, including the announcement of the winners as soon as votes are tallied tonight.

U.S. Senate

28th Senate District

State Sen. John McKinney (R) is running unopposed for his 8th term serving the 28th District. He is currently the Senate's minority leader. (Click on "28th Senate District" for updates, results and reactions.)

132nd Assembly District

Brenda Kupchick (R) and Sue Brand (D) are vying for the seat currently held by Perone. (Click on "132nd Assembly District" for updates, results and reactions.)

133rd Assembly District

Kim Fawcett (D) and Chris DeSanctis (R) are vying for the seat currently heald by Fawcett. (Click on "133rd Assembly District" for updates, results and reactions.)

134th Assembly District

Roger V. Autuori (R) and Matthew Waggner (D) are running unopposed.
