Meet the New Kid in Trumbull Preschools

School Days LLC, at Reservoir Avenue and White Plains Road, has a nearly full roster after opening in September.

Trumbull preschoolers have a new choice with School Days LLC in town.

The school, in the former Montessori School space (leased from the Congregational Church), is run by a retired Bridgeport teacher and her daughter, a Yale Children's Hospital nurse. Both are originally from Trumbull.

It has filled 33 of its 42 spots, said its director, Maria (who refused to give her last name).

"We have a wonderful, long nurturing environment. The children are learning and having fun. Every child will walk out ready to succeed in kindergarten," said Maria.

Despite the amount of competition, the mother/daughter team were not nervous.

"I knew what I wanted to bring into the Trumbull area and I knew we would succeed," Maria said. She added that the school's rates are "reasonable" in comparison to other town offerings.

The school serves ages 3,4 and 5 and the largest student-teacher ratio is 7 to 1, she added. One program she's proud of is "Handwriting without tears." All the teachers are certified, according to the director.

The school also takes children on field trips and brings in educational entertainment, such as fire trucks and visits to Plasko's Farm.

"We've got a lot going on here," the director said.

The school is open Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and will be open in summer.
