Joanne Sloan is on the spot again.
Sloan was recently was selected the 2013 Connecticut School Nurse of the Year by the Association of School Nurses of Connecticut and simultaneously selected by the Hearst Media as one of the top 10 Nurses in Fairfield County.
"This is overwhelming," said Sloan. "I would like to thank everybody. I love to work at Jane Ryan," she said.
Schools Supt. Ralph Iassogna called Sloan the "prototype school nurse, as she utilizes her many skills on a daily basis that go far beyond the typical everyday occurrences such as colds/sore throats.
"She has been involved in far more critical areas that require medical attention and interventions such as life-threatening allergies and diabetes," Iassogna said.
