St Joseph Boys Basketball Survives Another Scare Against Stamford
Cadets edge Black Knights to advance to Class LL quarterfinals on Friday
For the second time in as many weeks, the boys basketball team survived a major scare against Stamford.
Timajh Parker scored 22 points Wednesday as the Cadets held off the Black Knights 52-50 to advance to the quarterfinals of the CIAC Class LL state tournament.
On Feb. 23, St. Joseph, which will play another FCIAC foe in McMahon on Friday, defeated Stamford, 51-50.

The Black Knights (16-9) played most of the second half without Luis Bridtter and Danny Turkvan, who were saddled with four fouls, and did not score for the final 2:48.
Stamford still had a chance to tie, but Briddter missed a jumper with three seconds remaining.

Oscar Assie added 12 points for the Cadets, who were playing their first game since squandering a 20-point lead in the FCIAC quarterfinals against Trinity Catholic.
The Black Knights held a 50-48 lead, but Assie's basket tied it before Parker's layup gave the Cadets a 52-50 lead with 1:05 remaining.
